Go big. Go bold. Go Further.

Go Further is a do-it-yourself (DIY) fundraising program to support the work of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Whether you're hosting a tournament, run, birthday fundraiser, or any other activity, Go Further offers you the tools to make a real difference for the Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis community. Your efforts can lead to positive change in the Crohn’s and colitis community—including funding for life-changing research and programs. Getting the word out about the impact of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Canada can also help remove the stigma that many experience. Additionally, you’ll also have access to a suite of fundraising resources to make the biggest impact you can!

After you’ve chosen how you’d like to Go Further, follow the prompts to set up your fundraising page. You can register as an individual, join a fundraiser or create a new fundraiser.

We recommend you pick the fundraiser type that best aligns with your initiative. We have a variety of types available for every kind of fundraiser—the possibilities are endless. If you’re not sure which type to choose, Go Original!

That’s alright! Follow the prompts on the Login dropdown to enter your email address and request a new password for your fundraising page. Be sure to store your new password in a safe place!

After you’ve logged in, select “My Account” on the profile dropdown menu at the top of the page to edit your contact information. When you’re done, be sure to save your changes.

Nope! We are grateful for all funds raised for the Crohn’s and colitis community. Every little bit makes a difference!

When a donation is made, the donor’s name, amount, mailing address and email address will be visible to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada staff and the event’s Team Captain. Your donors can choose to have their donation appear anonymously on your fundraising page.

To reduce administrative costs, we kindly ask that you not collect any cash or cheque donations for your Go Further fundraiser. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at gofurther@crohnsandcolitis.ca. 

All online donations will automatically be issued a tax receipt via email for $15 or more.

Please note that tax receipts cannot be issued to anyone who has received something in return for their donation, including raffle tickets, sponsorship, event tickets, or products such as from a bake sale or a silent auction.

We’re more than happy to help you kickstart your Go Further fundraiser! Once you have decided what type of fundraiser you’d like to run, we ask that you review our Fundraising Policies. After you set up your fundraiser, a member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Canada team will contact you to help ensure your event’s success.

Yes! We can provide you with a ‘Proudly Supporting Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’ logo and marketing guidelines to promote your Go Further fundraiser. 

Although we cannot help you secure any sponsors, we can offer you resources to get started—including a sample sponsorship package. Check out our Sponsorship Guide for more information.

Unfortunately, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada cannot reimburse you for expenses incurred for your Go Further fundraiser. We can, however, help you find ways to offset event expenses and fundraise. Connect with a Crohn’s and Colitis team member for more information.

Although we cannot help you secure a venue or acquire permits, we do offer resources to help you get your event off the ground. Additionally, we recommend that you research venues available nearby for your type of Go Further fundraiser. You may need to reach out to your local municipality for the necessary permits. For event insurance, there are companies that offer event day insurance for a fee. If you are planning to serve alcohol or run any type of raffle, you will need to reach out to your provincial Alcohol and Gaming Commission for a license. Every province has their own regulations, so be sure to do your research to ensure your event goes off without a hitch!

• We can provide you with a letter of support to validate the authenticity of your event, including our Charitable Registration Number

Though we would love to attend every Go Further fundraiser, that is not always possible. However, we can provide you with tools to help you make the biggest impact for the Crohn’s and Colitis community!

Yes, we would love to see photos from your Go Further fundraiser! For more information on how to submit your high-quality photography (including the photographer’s information and any consent forms needed), check out our Fundraising Policies page. 

Please note that any photos shared may be used in Crohn’s and Colitis Canada promotional pieces.
