I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
“A healthy man wants a thousand things; a sick man only wants one.”
Five and a half years ago, at 16 years old, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Since then, I’ve been looking for an opportunity to give back to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Now, I finally have one: I’m training for a half marathon and raising money to support the organization that does so much for the Crohn’s and Colitis community.
When I was first diagnosed, life as I knew it came to a halt. My days became defined by uncertainty, hospital stays, liquid diets, and ultimately surgery. Throughout my training and on race day, fundraising for this cause will serve as a reminder of the privilege it is to endure the pain of a long run—to be able to wake up, get outside, and run—rather than waking up in a hospital bed wanting nothing more than to do exactly that.
Your contribution means the world to me, to the broader Crohn’s and Colitis community, and to the people who benefit from the incredible work of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
Thank you so much for your support!
